Multimodal course design creates a learning environment which is conducive to various learning styles by delivering the same content in multiple formats. In this workshop, you will explore strategies for developing content in various formats by using visuals, audio, and video to engage a diverse set of learners. You will explore the research-based foundation of why this approach to learning design is effective while viewing examples from best practices in multimodal content design.

Designing Courses with a Multimodal Approach is an online, week-long workshop from the Online Learning Consortium through a partnership with the University System of Maryland. The workshop will begin on Monday, December 5, 2016, and end on the following Sunday, December 11, 2016, requiring approximately 6-8 hours of work, including reading research-based articles, viewing presentations, engaging in online discussion forums, and submitting assignments.
To sign up for an OLC workshop, please open an RT ticket with the name of the workshop and preferred date(s). Please submit your request at least seven days prior to the start of the workshop to allow time for OLC processing. Instructional Technology staff will assist with your registration, answer any questions you may have about the experience, etc. You will receive a confirmation email from OLC after we register you and an additional email about 24 hours before the workshop begins with login information.
