LGBTQ+ Oral History Listening Party
LET'S PARTY!
Tuesday, December 9, 2025 · 10 - 11:15 AM
What is it like being LGBTQ+ at UMBC, and in Baltimore? How do we find community? How are our experiences as LGBTQ+ people shaped by our other identities? What matters to us?
Join Dr. Kate, director of UMBC's LGBTQ+ Oral History Project for a listening party! We will listen to excerpts from oral history interviews done by and with UMBC students, faculty, and staff, and talk about why these stories matter--and where the project is going next.
Refreshments will be provided, along with a soundtrack prepared by this semester's students in CSST 345: Unruly Bodies. Please join us for the party! We will meet in FA 011, or you can join the virtual stream.
This event is supported by UMBC's GWST Department and the Mellon Foundation's Affirming Multivocal Humanities grant.
This event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
