Research and Publication: STEM Faculty Panel Perspective
Graduate Student Research
Publishing your work is considered one of the primary pillars of a research project. Graduate students are often haunted by the policies and processes behind publishing papers as part of their graduate experience. Some graduate programs require students to be first authors to even be considered for graduation from their Ph.D. program.
On Tuesday, October 27th, 12- 1 p.m. via WebEx, the AOK Library will host a Research and Publication: STEM Faculty Panel Perspective. Attend a discussion where the following questions will be answered by our productive and avid STEM publishing faculty
- How do you even start the process of writing a publication?
- What are impact factors?
- How do you decide if your data is impactful enough to be submitted to a particular publication or journal?
This event intends to demystify the publishing process, so come over to learn how to overcome perfectionism (when is my paper ready to be submitted for publication?), learn how to process criticism, how to manage your time to be more productive (when am I supposed to find the time to sit down and write?), how to overcome writer's block, and more.
