We wanted to let you know about some free services available to you at UMBC.
Retriever Essentials - is a program to help students who are in need of food and clothing. We have 6 locations across campus where one can pick up a bag of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food and toiletries. Locations are listed at https://retrieveressentials.umbc.edu/campus-food-zones/distribution-centers/ You are welcome to pick up extra food to tide you over during school breaks. Please have your campus id with you when you visit one of our locations. Last year we gave away 279 bags of food.
We have a Coat Closet on campus that provides free, gently used coats, hats, gloves and scarves to students who are unable to purchase these items or for whom it would be a hardship to purchase. Last year we gave away 200 free coats! To pick up something, please contact Julie Rosenthal at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are on campus or are looking for something fun to do on Thanksgiving, multiple organizations on campus are hosting Home for the Holidays on Thursday, November 28 from noon until 2 at the True Grits dining hall. Complete details can be found here https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/retrieveressentials/events/77665
An anonymous donor from Athletics donated brand new socks and shirts. If you are in need of these items, please contact Julie Rosenthal at email@example.com
