Happy Second Week of Classes!

Hello Scholars!

Welcome new and returning students, happy second week of classes! We hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer break. 

As we start the fall semester, we want to remind everyone that your success is a priority at UMBC, and the first step in that is making sure you know the requirements to maintain your scholarship! 

• Check your scholarship agreement to see all specific requirements (feel free to contact our office if you did not keep a copy for your records), or you can learn more about requirements for each type of award (general / transfer) on our website.
• Please note that the deadline to add or drop courses is tomorrow, September 4th--ensure you are meeting the enrollment requirements of your award to avoid the cancelation of your scholarship.

UMBC also has many resources in place to support you throughout your time here: 

• Academic Success Center provides centralized support services to all undergraduate students. Please take the time to visit their website to explore the many resources available to you! 
• Retriever Essentials aims to eliminate the immediate burden of food insecurity for UMBC members and connects them to ongoing support networks, in order to enhance their academic retention and career success. Visit Retriever Essentials in the Commons (next to the Bookstore) to check out the free Essential Space store, as well as their other services.
