Writing Successful Federal Proposals
Friday, April 1, 2016 · 12 - 1:30 PM
(This is a repeat of the event held on February 19th. By popular demand, we are presenting it again to reach a larger audience, especially faculty who might seek funding from NIH.)
The federal grant process will be explained in the context of useful strategies for submitting successful applications for federal funding. This presentation is the first of a series on grant opportunities provided by the Office of the Vice President for Research for the UMBC community and will provide a critical introduction to the federal grant process. Topics to be discussed in this seminar will include: key federal contacts essential to know; how funding decisions are made; navigating the NIH system; determining the best mechanisms for applying; successful strategies in grant formulation and writing; the value of team science and collaboration; the review process; and other helpful hints and strategies to approach this process in a very informed and prepared way.
Lunch will be provided and space is limited, so please RSVP below.
