We have updated the myUMBC content display options to offer more flexibility for admins to customize how they would like posts from myUMBC groups to display on their website.
Beginning earlier this month, Sites admins now have additional options in the edit page view under the "UMBC Content" section, located on the right-hand side of the page. These new settings include the ability to control how content is previewed and to select the number of posts displayed per page. A description of each preview option is as follows:
- None: Shows only the title, date, and image (if available)
- Short Summary (default): Displays the title, date, image (if available), and an excerpt of the post content as a summary.
- Full Post: Shows the entire post content on the page.
The new update also allows you to control the amount of posts you want displayed on the page using the "Posts Per Page" section. This allows greater flexibility in displaying myUMBC content in a page that may have additional body text within it. However, it is important to balance the amount of posts displayed with the length of the post content. As a general rule, it is recommended to show no more than five posts at a time.
Step-by-step directions for how to add myUMBC content to a site, as well as a walk-through for setting up the new content display can be found on the Sites myUMBC FAQ.
