A paid Research Assistant position is opening in the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Health Administration and Policy in June or July 2018. The RA will assist with a variety of tasks related to study management, data collection, and analysis, in the areas of maternal and child health, health services research, and implementation science.
Position Details
· The position will be for an initial period of 2 months, with the option to extend contingent on performance and availability of funding
· The position will be paid at standard rates for current students and $12/hour for graduates
· Examples of tasks include transcribing interviews, record keeping, managing quantitative datasets, conducting quantitative analysis, and running errands related to the research project
· The RA must work from campus during normal business hours
· There is potential for the RA to be included as a co-author on journal publications
Requirements
· Recent graduate preferred, but current students in their final year will be considered
· Ability to commit 25 to 30 hours per week, during normal business hours, from June/July through October
· Coursework in statistics and experience with data analysis preferred
· GPA of 3.8 or higher preferred
· Strong writing skills required
· Experience conducting literature reviews preferred
· Detail oriented, ability to complete work free of errors, and ability to ask questions necessary to fully understand the tasks, are necessary
· Ability and willingness to independently learn to use qualitative and quantitative analysis software required
