Join our faculty leader, Dr. Samir El Omari, and the Education Abroad Team for an in-person info session to learn about the Cross-Cultural Competency in MENA: Exploring Morocco program. We will discuss the itinerary, cultural activities, course (MLL424), and the ins and outs of the application process.
Program Overview
The course includes experiential learning activities, and learning sessions during students’ time in Morocco. The MLL 424 experiential learning activities integrate curricular goals with local environment, ensuring that students do not just observe, but also actively engage with the culture. This program incorporates site visits and experiential learning by moving part of lectures to the field—such as visiting historical sites, museums, or local businesses. These hands-on activities allow students to see concepts from the syllabus “come to life”, providing immediate, tangible context for theoretical materials. The combination of academic rigor and experiential learning ensures that students gain both a deeper understanding of the subject matter and the necessary skills to thrive in a global environment. This structured approach encourages students to shift from passive learners to active, engaged global citizens.
Location Overview
This program will travel to several different locations including: Casablanca, Fes, the Atlas Mountains, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Marrakesh and Martil.
