The Boren Scholarship Program is a nationally competitive, federally funded scholarship program for the study of languages and cultures considered vital to US national security. UMBC students can study Chinese, Japanese, Korean Russian or Arabic at any level. They can also study advanced-level French in Francophone Africa, beginning Portuguese in Brazil and Mozambique, or advanced-level Spanish in Central and South America.

Dr. Brian Souders, Associate Director of the International Education Services office, is leading this final workshop of the semester. The final application deadline is January 27, 2014 for Boren Scholarship applications, so do not miss this last change to strengthen your application.
