I’m Back, Now What? Leveraging Your International Experience: Baltimore Regional Re-Entry Conference

This conference is designed for students who have had an international experience. Participants will receive information relevant to future opportunities that are globally oriented.
Make personal and professional meaning of your time abroad. Learn how to market your knowledge and skills on your resume, cover letters, and in job interviews. Share your international experiences with other students. Speak with experts about other international opportunities including volunteering, working, and graduate study abroad.
Open to all students in the Baltimore metro area with an interest in leveraging an international experience for personal and professional benefit.
Program Schedule:
The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. with check-in and registration and end at 3:00 p.m.
9:30-10:00 a.m. Registration
10:00-11:00 a.m. Welcome and Cross Cultural Exercise
11:00-12:30 p.m. Playback Theater: Unpacking Cross Cultural Study Abroad*
12:30-12:45 p.m. International Expert Panelist Introductions
12:45-1:45 p.m. Lunch and Networking**
1:45-2:15 p.m. Marketing Your Study Abroad Experience
2:15-3:00 p.m. Resume Review
*Playback Theater is a time for conference participants to offer personal stories and then witness them come to life in improvised music, movement, and dialogue. Inside Out Playback Theater offers a venue for students who have studied internationally to share their stories of discovery and culture-shock and to ease re-entry stress. Connections between participants are forged as stories are played back. This session will be facilitated by Heidi Winters Vogel.

Complete the Online Registration Form by January 30 and UMBC will pay for your conference fee. There is a shuttle leaving from the UMBC Commons Circle at 9:00 a.m., but please arrive by 8:45 a.m. Students can sign up for the shuttle by clicking "I Can Attend." Space is limited. Please register for the conference here!
