Students are leading a sustainability campaign called "retriever treasure', collecting donations from residence halls as students begin the process of moving out, to prevent reusable items from ending up in the dumpsters! Share this effort with your friends to keep in mind during move out, a time when we see too much unnecessary waste!
From May 11th to May 18th, the last day of finals, students have placed and are monitoring collection bins in each residential hall lobby, the apartment community center lobby, and the Commons lobby. The items will be available for students to shop for, during a yard sale at the start of the fall semester.
The Retriever Treasure project is sponsored by the SGA Prove It Grant, an initiative where students design, propose, and compete for $10,000 grants to develop projects that improve our campus.
Congratulations to the student leaders from Students for Environmental Awareness who have helped take this project from conception to reality in the past year!
