The Executive Board Officer Interest Form for Academic Year 2026-27 is NOW OPEN!!
Eligibility to run for a position includes the following requirements:
- MUST BE a SWSA Member in good standing with the organization (have attended 3 events this academic year).
- MUST PLAN to hold your position of interest for 1 full academic year.
Other additional eligibility requirements for specific positions are included on the interest form.
Open Positions & Responsibilities
President
- Coordinating with other board members to ensure smooth running of the organization, including creating board meeting agendas and running the meetings
- Serving as the organization's official representative for communicating with SGA and UMBC staff (including faculty advisor)
Vice President
- Assuming the role of President in the event of the President's absence or incapacity
- Assist all officers when/if needed
Organize and initiate elections for the following year
Treasurer
- Managing the organization's funds and ensuring compliance with all financial rules and guidelines
Generally managing the finances of the club (submitting semesterly budgets, RESGAFs, keeping record of funds spent/available)
Secretary
- Ensure membership statuses in myUMBC are correct by keeping accurate records of attendance at GBMs/service events
- Recording and archiving information from meetings and activities
- Manage edits to the constitution as needed
Public Relations Chair
- Maintain myUMBC page, official GroupMe, and Instagram pages
Create graphics for events to share with board and members in a timely manner
On-Campus Service Chair
- Coordinate regular (monthly) service events with on-campus service partnerships.
- Manage required sign-ups, carpools, and waivers (if needed) for on-campus service events.
Off-Campus Service Chair
- Coordinate regular (monthly) service events with off-campus service partnerships.
- Manage required sign-ups, carpools, and waivers (if needed) for off-campus service events.
The interest form will close on April 8th.
The election will begin on April 15th, and end on April 22nd.
New officers will begin their terms on May 1.
