Mundo Lingo: More Than A Word Film Screening
Exploring the history of Indigenous-discriminatory language
Tuesday, November 5, 2019 · 4 PM - 5:30 PM
This series creates an open meeting where anyone can come for conversations and activities revolving around global issues. Snacks and ice-breaker/team building activities are always provided, after which the groups are left to freely converse in an informal atmosphere. Mundo Lingo encourages you to share your cultural identity and experiences around our topic with other UMBC community members!
This film screening of More Than A Word explores Native American-based mascots and their impact on real-life attitudes, issues, and policies concerning Indigenous people. All undergrads, grads, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend! Need to request disability-based accommodations or have any questions? Contact Campus Life's Mosaic at firstname.lastname@example.org.
