Career Navigation: Focusing on our own story
What's next and how do we get there?

Never be a background character in your own story! Who is writing your career plan? If it isn’t you, why isn’t it? Sometimes we allow our supervisor, a trusted friend or colleague, or our families to influence our career goals. There comes a tipping point, or a crossroads, when we leave our own plan behind in service of another person’s goals for us; or we are just very comfortable in our current position. How do we figure out what we want at this stage in our career, which path to take to get there, and the confidence to step outside of our comfortable box?
In this session, we will focus on diving into our own complicated stories and begin writing the next chapter by and for ourselves. We will explore: ways to transfer skills and experience from one area of our lives to our career; refine our idea of networking and engagement; and leave with an action plan framework to move our story forward.
It is never too late, nor are we ever too old, to change the story of our lives.
Registration is required (select "going" below). Participants will receive a link with the credentials for the session 24 hours beforehand.
