Managing Transitions: Making the Most of Change
A Book Discussion for Managers and Leaders
Friday, April 14, 2023 · 2 - 3 PM
Online
"Change is an event but a transition is the process that you go through in response to the change."
~ William Bridges
We know that in every aspect of our lives, both personal and professional, change is inevitable. And yet, change often is the result of an event but the process by which you migrate through change is more about transition. Transitions have several stages that are vital for us to acknowledge, understand, and successfully navigate with our teams if we want change to truly "take."
Join Dr. Lynne Adams and Jill Wardell from the Human Resources Department in a 5-part book discussion for managers and leaders as we explore the human and psychological side of change in William Bridges classic: Managing Transitions: Making the Most of Change.
We ask that all participants commit to all five sessions of this book discussion. All sessions will be held via Webex on Fridays except for one from 2:00-3:00 pm:
April 14
April 21
April 28
May 4 (Thursday)
May 12
A link to the sessions will be sent 24 hours prior to the first session.
We have limited quantities of the book. The first 10 people to sign up below AND register via the Google form will receive the book. All others will need to purchase the book (links below).
If you sign up for the book discussion and your plans change, please notify Jill Wardell (jweink1@umbc.edu) in advance.
