What is Intercultural Communication?
Intercultural communication is the way in which we talk and communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Our values, cultural and communication styles may differ, and in the workplace, intercultural communication skills are about finding ways to collaborate and communicate well, reducing misunderstandings, while also promoting inclusivity.
Please join Melody Wright, Learning & Development Manager, for this online session aimed at bettering our skills in communicating with everyone in our campus community.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Define intercultural communication and identify the benefits of intercultural communication skills.
- Identify what can hinder intercultural communication.
- Identify some cultural values and ways of communicating in different cultures.
- Plan and implement strategies to improve their intercultural communication skills.
