Strategies for Successful Career Navigation
Monday, April 17, 2017 · 12 - 1 PM
Thinking about where you're going with your career? Curious about ways to enhance your marketability as a professional? This 2-part interactive workshop will help you explore ways to take stock of your current career assets and develop strategies and tools for future career success. Specifically you will learn how to:
- Sharpen your ability to better understand and recognize the transferable nature of your knowledge, skills, and abilities;
- Enhance your overall career portfolio in ways that you haven't realized before;
- Identify and begin to take advantage of professional development resources on campus; and
- Look for new opportunities to align with goals and objectives of your unit
You'll walk away from these workshops thinking about your job in creative and new ways, taking stock of the gems in the career you currently have, becoming more of an active driver within your career and finding ways to provide value no matter where you are. This session will include short integration assignments outside the course to help deepen your learning and application.
The sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Ken Baron, Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Student Success and Jill Wardell, Manager of Workplace Learning & Wellness.
Due to the nature of this course, registration assumes attendance at both sessions - 4/17 and 5/1 from 12 - 1 p.m. in Apartment Community Center Multi-Purpose Room.
Space is limited! Please register by Wednesday, April 12th.
