ACIREMA: Understanding the International Student Experience
Diversity Session
Wednesday, February 14, 2018 · 10 AM - 12 PM
ACIREMA is a simulation exercise designed to help UMBC faculty and staff to understand the months of difficulties that international students face in their quest for a U.S. education. Participants in this exercise will better relate to the procedures and challenges that our international students must follow, from their first contact with a U.S. educational institution to their arrival on campus.
Dr. David Di Maria, Associate Vice Provost for International Education, will address the important issues raised in the simulation, as well as suggestions as to what participants can do to support our international students.
Please join us for this fascinating insight into the experiences of this important part of our UMBC community.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration deadline is Friday, February 9th!
If you register for a workshop and your attendance plans change, please email us at hrtraining@umbc.edu.
Please arrive early so we can begin promptly at 10:00 a.m
