Eldercare Series ~ What You Need to Know About Alzheimer's
Interested in finding simple yet impactful ways to weave wellness into your professional and personal life? If so, please join faculty and staff colleagues for Wellness Wednesdays the first Wednesday of each month. Each session offers information, resources, and/or immersion into different wellness modalities that are supported at UMBC.
Did you know that more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimers and there are some predictions that by 2050 this number could rise to 16 million. Come to this interactive session where you will learn the facts about Alzheimer's ~ the symptoms, prognosis, treatment, and how you can help prevent it by re-committing to your health and wellness.
Erickson faculty member, Dr. Peter Rabins will be facilitating this session. Dr. Rabins is a professor and Director of Research, in the Erickson School of Aging Management Services. He was the founding director of the geriatric psychiatry program and the first holder of the Richman Family Professorship of Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration deadline is Friday, June 1st.
