Title IX Training for All Remaining UMBC Employees

All UMBC employees are required to attend a Mandatory Title IX/Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training. If you are a UMBC employee and have not already attended a Mandatory Title IX/Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training this year, please register for and attend ONE (1) of the following nine sessions:
- May 20, 2019 - 3 sessions (9:00 to 11:00; 12:00 to 2:00; 3:00 to 5:00)
- May 21, 2019 - 3 sessions (9:00 to 11:00; 12:00 to 2:00; 3:00 to 5:00)
- August 20, 2019 - 3 sessions (9:00 to 11:00; 12:00 to 2:00; 3:00 to 5:00)
In order to register, log onto MyUMBC, click the 'Going' button under the 'Attendee' section. Please note that you will only see this section if you are logged in. This is the crucial step that's needed to complete the registration process.
You can also click the 'Add to Calendar' button to add this event to your Google calendar, but please note that simply doing this will not capture registration information. Thank you.
The educational session will address the following topics:
- Fostering an educational environment free from discrimination and harassment
- Promoting a safer, more caring environment for all members of the UMBC community
- Understanding the history and context of Title IX and the Clery Act
- Understanding University policies and procedures for reporting, investigating and responding to sexual and gender-based harassment and violence
- Understanding campus and community resources to support reporting parties and responding parties.
- Understanding the difference between confidential resources and reporting options on campus and in the community
- Identifying, preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based harassment, discrimination and violence, dating and domestic violence, and stalking
- Understanding your role as a University employee: reporting, leaning in, and leading
- Responding effectively to individuals who disclose that they have experienced sexual violence
