Webinar: The Learning Myths that Plague Us
As learning professionals, we should be following evidence-based methods. Our learners and our employers expect us to apply learning science to the best of our abilities. Yet persistent mistaken beliefs about learning, what we call Learning Myths continue to permeate our efforts. Pernicious superstitions such as learning styles, millennials, neural, and more continue to be trotted out in advertising, consulting, and client conversations.
What are we to do? In this session we’ll explore the problem, the costs, and the reasons why they persist. We’ll cover a wee bit of learning science, and some of the prevalent examples. Finally, we’ll provide guidance about how to withstand the continual barrage of hype and trends. Come inoculate yourself against the plague!
