Wellness Wednesday: A Guide to Home Composting
Interested in finding simple yet impactful ways to weave wellness into your professional and personal life? If so, please join faculty and staff colleagues for Wellness Wednesdays. Each session offers information, resources, and/or immersion into different wellness modalities that are supported at UMBC.
Have you noticed your household waste has increased since the start of the pandemic? Staying at home during a global pandemic creates new challenges, that can lend themselves to amazing opportunities. It is more difficult now than ever to avoid creating waste, but it is important to recognize the opportunities where we can still waste less.
Composting at home can be intimidating and seem
nearly impossible with limited space. However, it is a very simple process that
can be rewarding and beneficial for your family and our local community.
Regardless if you live in an apartment or 1-acre plot of land there is a
composting option for you. Join UMBC’s Sustainability Coordinator Kayla Hickman
in a discussion to navigate the basics of composting and the best options for
your household specifically.
Through this guided and interactive discussion, you will learn the best
practices for composting at home, factors to consider when choosing the best
option for you, and useful composting resources. In order to make this
presentation as relevant as possible to the group, please fill out this quick survey before registering for the event. Please
