As our campus and the world become increasingly diverse, organizations that mirror this reality internally have better outcomes related to engagement, retention, and innovation, among others. Inclusive excellence is among our top core values and something that we have a responsibility to intentionally weave through our policies, programs, and procedures.
In this in-depth 90 minute session conducted by Human Resources' Kim Harris and Jill Wardell, you will learn how to conduct and run effective searches in a way that models our value of inclusive excellence. Participants will learn the role of the search committee chair and members, the phases of a search (pre-search planning, application review and interview, and post search evaluation) and respective tasks, and ways to identify and mitigate bias. Best practices in inclusion will be shared at every stage of the process.
Participants will walk away with a clear road map for running effective, inclusive searches that help UMBC advance its core mission.
Registration is required. Participants will receive a link with the credentials for the session 24 hours beforehand.
