Spectrum: CLOTHING SWAP!
A clothing swap for trans/nonbinary students
What: A clothing swap in conjunction with this week's Spectrum discussion group meeting! Come try a new look, get inspired, and reflect on your personal expression.
12pm-1pm clothing swap, with pizza, snacks and music. We have two private spaces where you can try on clothing.
1pm-2pm, following the swap will be our bi-monthly Spectrum discussion group, where we will do a mood board activity and discuss personal style and transness.
Who: This clothing swap and following discussion group is for trans, nonbinary and genderfluid UMBC students. We are accepting and encouraging all students to donate clothing whether or not you are participating.
Where: The Women’s Center Lounge in The Commons
When : Thursday, November 17th, 12pm-1pm, clothing swap, 1pm-2pm, discussion group
Can I donate clothing?
Yes! We are accepting clothing donations from all students. You can bring your donation into the Women’s Center from November 9th-17th, between the hours of 11am-5pm (4pm on Friday). Please wash clothing before donating, and only bring clothes in good condition.
Do I have to be a Spectrum member?
Nope! Spectrum is an open community discussion group, and there is no registration or sign up to participate in the clothing swap or discussion group. If you are interested in staying up to date with Spectrum, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our mailing list.
Do I have to stay the whole time?
Nope! You can come for just the clothing swap, just the discussion group, or a little of both.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you are participating in the Spectrum discussion group, you may want to bring a device you can access the internet on for this session's special moodboard activity, like a laptop or smartphone. Contact us at email@example.com if this is a concern.
The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity.
Fall 2022: We meet on Thursdays at 1pm in the Women's Center Lounge!
If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
