Students, faculty, and staff have made t-shirts describing their experience with sexual assault and relationship violence. In recognition of UMBC's Relationship Violence Awareness Month, on Monday, October 16th, 2023 these t-shirts will be hung shoulder-to-shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing, as if the survivors are there themselves, telling us their stories.

The Clothesline Project gives voice to the experiences of survivors, victims, family, and friends who have been affected by violence. All are encouraged to attend and participate.

UMBC community members impacted by interpersonal violence are encouraged to make a t-shirt for the display prior to October 16th so it can be included in the display. Supplies will be available throughout all of October in the Women's Center and shirts made on or after October 16th will be included in future displays including Take Back the Night 2024.

UMBC community members interested in volunteering for this event are encouraged to email the Women's Center at womenscenter@umbc.edu. Setting up the project takes lots of hands so volunteers are greatly appreciated!
