Join the Spectrum discussion group in the Women’s Center lounge for our meeting of the Fall 2024 semester! 

We will be celebrating Coming Out Day by connecting to gender with music. Discussion will be themed around trans compositions and lyrics, and how music can be a unique media to transcend gender norms. Listen to songs by trans artists, lyric analysis, etc. BYOS (bring-your-own-song)!

The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity and those who are allies, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This discussion-based program follows the Women’s Center Brave Space model to provide a welcoming environment and thoughtful community to engage in conversations focused on the experiences of the transgender community.
