Returning Adult Learner Meeting!
Calling attention to all RALs!
This program is designed to support undergraduate students over the age of 25 returning to college later in life. Students receiving a returning adult learner scholarship are required to participate in this program designed to support their personal, academic, and career goals of adult learners at UMBC. All adult learners at UMBC are invited to attend the monthly meetings and workshops designed specifically to meet the needs of adult students. All workshops and events are posted via our myUMBC events page.
At our first meeting we will welcome new and returning folks to our group by getting to know each other and fully understanding Brave Spaces. We plan on having a special guest, Dr. Rowena Winkler, from the Career Center here at UMBC to discuss supporting RALs in identifying and pursuing future job opportunities effectively, helping them articulate transferable skills gained through prior work, education, and life experiences, and providing guidance on tailoring resumes to reflect current goals and expectations.
These meetings are facilitated by Bekkah West and Zoe Brown.
