Women & Gender Minorities in STEM
Join us next Wednesday, October 7th, from 2:00-3:00pm at the Women and Gender Equity Center for our third discussion this year! We are very excited to have Engineers without Borders join us and share some of the work they do on campus and examine the ethical and moral obligations that can exist within STEM fields.
Our upcoming topics include:
Examining the Ethical and Moral Obligations in STEM Fields (10/7)
The AI impact on Women and Childern (10/28)
Cultural Minorities in the Medical Field (11/04)
The Women & Gender Minorities in STEM discussion group will engage in conversations focused on the experiences of women and other gender minority* students studying in the STEM fields; we request that students do not use this space for class research or interviews.
*A gender minority is defined as someone whose gender identity or expression differs from their assigned sex at birth.*
Meetings will be held at the Women and Gender Equity Center (Commons 004), from 2-3pm every other Wednesday!
If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.
The Women's, Gender, & Equity Center and this event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
