Women & Gender Minorities in STEM
We're so excited to be bringing back the Women & Gender Minorities in STEM discussion group. If you identify with this group or have topics to share, please join us to talk about common experiences and challenges as minorities in STEM!
Our upcoming topics include:
Hierarchies in STEM (9/9),
Building Healthy Study Habits (9/23),
Examining the Ethical and Moral Obligations in STEM Fields (10/7)
The Women & Gender Minorities in STEM discussion group will engage in conversations focused on the experiences of women and other gender minority* students studying in the STEM fields; we request that students do not use this space for class research or interviews.
*A gender minority is defined as someone whose gender identity or expression differs from their assigned sex at birth.*
Meetings will be held at the Women and Gender Equity Center (Commons 004), from 2-3pm every other Wednesday!
If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.
The Women's, Gender, & Equity Center and this event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
