If you are interested in pursuing an independent research project in some aspect of Asian Studies, you can apply for an Undergraduate Research Award (URA) to help fund your work.
URAs provide up to $1,500 to undergraduate students to support their research or creative work with a UMBC faculty mentor on an original project. UMBC students of all years and disciplines are invited to apply, as long as they will remain enrolled at UMBC long enough to complete the proposed work.
If you'd like to do a project in Asian Studies for elective credit (either Fall 2021 or Spring 2022), talk to me about your plans ASAP. (oyen@umbc.edu)
