Methodist Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summer
Scholarship/Internship Program offers a hands-on and
immersive 10-week experience designed to broaden your perspective
of career possibilities in the health care industry. Over the
10-week period, you will have the opportunity to explore health
care leadership through the lenses of talented professionals
working in key departments across Houston Methodist. The program
is designed to give you the tools and resources to prepare you for
a future serving the evolving needs of a fast-growing patient
Scholars work with their preceptor during the full-time (40 hours per week), 10-week program in a nonclinical department to learn more about operations and career opportunities in health care.
In addition to working in their assigned departments, the scholars are also required to participate in professional development sessions. The program’s mission is to facilitate the scholars’ professional development through mentorship, hands-on experience and learning across Houston Methodist, and expose them to the various fields that comprise the health care system.
Converging Engineering and Medicine… Become a PHYSICIANEER. EnMed: A collaboration between Houston Methodist Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering and College of Medicine, it is designed to transform health care through interdisciplinary research and the development of medical technologies.
The Houston Methodist Administrative Fellowship Program offers unparalleled Opportunities for future health care leaders to gain experience in all the aspects of a premier academic medical hospital system. The 18-month program emphasizes learning through rotational exposure to corporate services, an academic medical center and dynamic community hospitals. Individuals develop a comprehensive understanding of a complex health care organization with a strong academic and spiritual mission, and have many opportunities to further develop their leadership and communication skills. Eligible applicants must have received or completed the didactic requirements for a Master’s in Business Administration, Master’s in Healthcare Administration or Master’s in Public Health from a CAHME, CEPH, AACSB or ACBSP accredited university, or a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, JD) with a strong interest in serving in health care administration.
