We asked Steven to share how he benefitted from attending all of the professional development sessions:
"Through the UMBC 2021 Career Launch Summer Series, I learned how even the seemingly trivial interactions you have with those that are in the field you aspire to be in are important to make yourself stand out. Instead of being another number in the mounds of resumes and cover letters they have, you should make yourself distinct by directly interacting with them, whether it's through actual face-to-face conversation or a direct message through their social media presence. This allows them to put a face and an identity to your application, making you memorable."
