Tell us about your internship, co-op, or research opportunity, including your day-to-day responsibilities.
My responsibilities at my internship included working on 2020 individual and corporate tax returns as well as analyzing financial statements for our clients.
Describe the process of obtaining your position. When did you hear of the position and submit your application?
I found this position on UMBCworks. I spoke to Christine Routzhan at the Career Center before submitting my resume. Once I did, I had an interview with the owners of the company.
What have you enjoyed the most about your position or organization?
I have most enjoyed how much I learned through my internship and the connections I have been able to make.
How do you believe you have made an impact through your work?
I have contributed to completing many tax returns as well as completing meaningful projects for my boss.
What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience?
Internships are a great way to figure out what you want to do in your field of study so go into it with an open mind and learn as much as you can from the experience!

Internships are a great way to start thinking about your career and create connections. I am so happy that I took advantage of the resources that the career center provides and I was able to have such a positive experience.
