Tell us about your experience, including your day-to-day responsibilities:
During my Operations Internship at OriGene Technologies, I work with the Order Fulfillment and Procurement teams to support daily operations. My responsibilities include helping manage inventory and processing orders through the NetSuite ERP system. I also work with different departments to help resolve issues and keep daily operations running smoothly. I have also worked on improving internal processes by finding ways to make my workflow more organized and efficient. One example was improving how I managed information in NetSuite when switching between departments, which helped me complete tasks more effectively. This internship has helped me better understand how operations work and how small process improvements can make a difference.
Describe the process of obtaining your position. When did you hear of the position and submit your application?
I found the Operations Internship opportunity through OriGene Technologies’ company website and submitted my application during the summer. After applying, I went through the interview process and was selected for the position. The application process gave me the opportunity to learn more about OriGene and the role while also showing how my background in Business Technology Administration and interest in operations aligned with the position.

What have you enjoyed the most about your position and organization?
What I have enjoyed most about my position is the opportunity to work on real business operations and see how different departments work together. I have enjoyed learning how processes are managed within a company and finding ways to make tasks more organized and efficient. I also appreciate the people I work with because everyone has been willing to help me learn and has given me the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibilities.
How do you believe you have made an impact through your work?
I believe I have made an impact by helping improve the way daily tasks are organized and completed within the operations department. Through my work with Order Fulfillment and Procurement, I have been able to identify areas where processes could be more efficient and find solutions that make my workflow more organized.
What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience?
My advice to another student looking for an internship or similar experience would be to never stop applying and continue putting yourself out there. The process can take time and there will be times when you do not hear back, but staying consistent is important. Every application is an opportunity to learn and improve. I would also recommend being open to different opportunities because even roles that may not seem perfect at first can help you gain valuable experience and build skills for the future.
