Graduate Research Fellowship Opportunity
Essential Responsibilities:  GE's Global Research Center is offering students the ability to accelerate their professional development in tandem with academic achievements. The mission of the GRC Fellowship Program is to cultivate talent currently enrolled at top tier universities working on research-based engineering degrees.The Fellowship assignments at GRC offer unique opportunities to work alongside technologists in one of the GE Research's labs as well as participating in a structured mentorship program. Assignments are generally for 10-12 weeks over the summer. At GRC, scientists, engineers, and technicians work to provide GE's businesses and strategic partners with technical innovations for their future generation products, processes and services.Challenging technical projects, work that makes a difference and executive interface designed for students on the fast-track for leadership. The program includes seminars on cross-center technology and soft skills development. Opportunities for networking and showcasing your project accomplishments are offered. Our Technical Showcase event will culminate the program, offering our Fellows an opportunity to demonstrate technical depth and knowledge.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Graduate Student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking degree in area of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related technical degree program.
  • You must have established strong academic performance with research orientation (3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA or better at the graduate level.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • You must submit your application for employment through www.ge.com/careers to be considered.
Desired Characteristics:
  • 4th or 5th year doctoral student with planned degree completion within 12-18 months.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, good interpersonal skills, initiative, high self-confidence and have goals for a career in industrial research.
  • Available for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks
