Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® (MHIF) is looking for 12 research interns to support physician-initiated research projects. Founded in 1982, MHIF is one of the leading non-profit cardiovascular research and education institutions in the country. Their mission is to improve people’s lives through the highest quality cardiovascular research and education. With almost 70 full-time employees, we conduct cutting-edge clinical research and transformative community research.
Research interns participate in additional educational experiences, including shadowing and observation opportunities, field trips, lectures by physicians and other activities designed to enhance the internship experience. Interns share their research at meetings such as the American College of Cardiology’s Scientific Sessions. Of the more than 170 intern alumni, 42% are practicing physicians, 24% medical students, 15% premed students, and 15% in other healthcare fields.
Additional information is available here.
Compensation
Interns will be provided a $420 weekly stipend to offset expenses. Stipends will be $420 per week (with taxes deducted), paid via payroll every other week. Additional need-based stipends may be available for those who receive offers to join the intern cohort. This can be discussed at the time an offer is extended.
