Dr. Richard Forno featured in international documentary 'The Pager Explosions: Secrets of Infiltrating Hezbollah'

Electronic pagers across Lebanon exploded simultaneously on Sept. 17, 2024, killing 12 and wounding more than 2,700. The following day, another wave of explosions in the country came from detonating walkie-talkies. The attacks appeared to target members of the militant group Hezbollah. Soonafter, Dr. Richard Forno, Teaching Professor, CYBR GPD, and Associate Director of the UMBC Cybersecurity Institute, wrote an article for 'The Conversation' analysing the attack, the technologies involved, and what it might mean for the future of warfare. As a result of that article, in August 2026, he was featured in an hour-long international documentary produced by al-Araby entitled 'The Pager Explosions: Secrets of Infiltrating Hezbollah' where he offered additional analysis and thoughts based on the original article.
