Fundamentals of Power Analysis
Power analysis can be one of the more challenging parts of preparing an NIH grant, particularly for emerging scholars writing their first R or K application. This practical workshop will cover power analysis for commonly used study designs, including what to do when the proposed analysis does not fit neatly into a standard power calculator.
Heide Jackson will demonstrate analytic and simulation-based approaches using Stata, working from straightforward power calculations to examples that require simulation. Attendees will receive Stata and R code examples and a curated resource list they can adapt for their own research.
