Circles for Beloved Community
UMBC Then & Now
Circle Focus: UMBC Then and Now
Community Circles are a facilitated space to practice what community can be at UMBC, grounded in honesty, care, and connection.
Change has a way of disrupting and disconnecting us, even when it's necessary or expected. Our campus has moved through waves of change, starting with COVID and continuing through the many shifts in our campus community and the broader political and social landscape since. This community circle offers a chance to gather, pause together, and process what this season of change has meant for us as a campus community.
Come reflect on where we've been, where we are now, and what has shifted along the way in how we connect, how we show up for one another, and how we understand belonging at UMBC.
This session will be facilitated by Drs. Sy Simms and Jasmine Lee.
