DEC brings professional game developers to UMBC.

DEC is the Digital Entertainment Conference, an annual event run by the students of the UMBC Game Developers Club that brings professional game developers from the area to UMBC to talk about their experience in the game industry. DEC is free to attend and open to UMBC students, high school students, UMBC alumni and anyone interested in game development.
Schedule of Presenters:
- 12pm - 1pm: "Making a Game Ready Prop", presented by Ryan Griffin (3D Environment Artist at Bit Reactor)
- 1pm - 2pm: "Technical Music Design in Ara: History Untold", presented by Michael Curran (Former Audio Director at Oxide Games) and Phillip Klassen (Audio Designer at Oxide Games)
- 2pm - 2:30pm: LUNCH (will be provided!)
- 2:30pm - 3:30pm: "Accessibility and Tooling", presented by Derrick Lin (Former Tools Engineer at Oxide Games)
- 3:30pm - 4:30pm: "Yes, the Games Industry is Volatile. My Journey Through the Industry”, presented by Katie Hirsch (Senior UI Engineer at Zenimax Online Media)
- 4:30pm - 5:30pm: “Bits and Bytes: Engineering AAA Games Across 20 Years”, presented by Tronster Hartley (Team Lead at Firaxis Games)
- 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Network and Playtest!
