Love Letter: My True Feelings Post Mortem with Tulie Mitiuri
A Tragic Tale of a Game Never Meant to Be
Friday, November 20, 2020 · 1:30 - 2:30 PM
Indie 3D Artist and UMBC Alumni Tulie Mitiuriev joins us this Friday for a Post Mortem Presentation on the Indie Game "Love Letter: My True Feelings".
Formally known as "LoveSick", Love Letter was a social simulation video game in which the player takes on the role of a yandere high school student who must eliminate other students who compete for her love interest. The game was inspired by Yandere Simulator, with Love Letter's development partly being a result of the lack of notable progress in Yandere Simulator's development and the developer's desire to improve on the game. Unfortunately due to various reasons, the game's development was cancelled on September 23rd, 2020.
At this Presentation, Tulie will present a detailed Powerpoint Post Mortem on Love Letter, detailing how she got there by simply taking a chance in joining a discord server, how it fell apart, how it could have been saved, and what to learn from this experience. Additionally, as the rigging and animation artist, she will be giving an internet exclusive, never-before-seen look on what the model of the protagonist, Setsuna, would have looked like.
Plus, the 3D Artist "Toasty" - the person responsible for making the 3D model of Setsuna - will also try to join the chat through Youtube's comments!
This presentation will take place during our club meeting this Friday, 11/18. While Club meeting will start at 1:00 PM as usual, this presentation will start at 1:30 PM during the meeting.
The presentation will be streamed to the Club Discord server here, and is also viewable directly on Youtube here.
