Senators: 16 positions
The Graduate Senate will be composed of 4 senators from each of the following 4 groups:
Student affairs: 2 from COEIT; 2 from CAHSS & CNMS
COEIT (College of Engineering and Information Technology)
CNMS (College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences)
CAHSS (College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) + Erickson School
The Senate Speaker will be elected from among the 16 elected Senators and will serve in a dual role: fulfilling the responsibilities of a Senator for their designated area, as well as running the Senate as a whole and serving as an Officer of the Executive Council with the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. These 5 positions are unofficially known as the “Cabinet.”
