University Health Services (UHS) and our Office of Health Education are recruiting students to apply for the Peer Health Education Program
for the upcoming academic year (2013-2014). The Peer Health Educators
are a group of highly trained undergraduate students that provide the
campus community with health education programs/presentations, engage
their fellow students in conversations around common college health
topics, and serve as the faces for UHS and the many wonderful services
we offer the campus.
The program has gained popularity over the years and
is now looked at as a very competitive program to enter at UMBC.
Students are selected for the program through a combination of
applications, interviews, and references.
You are invited to nominate students who
demonstrate an interest in helping & educating other students,
developing their leadership and public speaking skills, and who have
expressed a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of
students at UMBC regarding healthy choices and behaviors. We will
contact the students you nominate, let them know that you were kind
enough to nominate them, and invite them to apply. Please nominate
students by Friday, March 29, 2013. Click below for the nomination form.
