The duties of the President shall include:
REQUIREMENT: Must have held a leadership position before.
● serving as the organization's official representative for communicating with SGA and UMBC staff
● scheduling and presiding all general body and Executive Board meetings
● overseeing all committees
● checking-in with other organization members
The duties of the Internal Vice-President (I-VP) shall include:
● ensuring membership cohesion through member feedback and group activities
● coordinating membership development through leadership development opportunities
● assisting the President in overseeing all committees
● assisting the President in checking-in with other organization members
● assuming the role of President in the event of the President's absence or incapacity
The duties of the External Vice-President (E-VP) shall include:
● managing public affairs and public relations
● serving as the liaison to other student organizations for collaborative events and projects
● assisting Executive Board members as needed
The duties of the Treasurer shall include:
● managing the organization's funds and ensuring compliance with all financial rules and guidelines
● managing fundraising events and projects
● providing budget summaries at meetings, as needed
The duties of the Secretary shall include:
● recording and archiving information from meetings and activities, including notes and images
● maintaining and updating all social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) and website
● regularly checking the HCC email and HCC Feedback Form
In order to appear on the ballot, please send us a "stump speech" of no more than a paragraph, explaining why you are a good candidate for the office. Send to honorscollege@umbc.edu with the subject line reading: "HCC Election: President" (or whatever position you are running for) by 11:59pm, Sunday April 21st.
We will then gather all the candidates' information and open the voting on Monday, April 22nd. You ARE allowed to run for more than one position, but you need to submit separate paragraphs.
