Pre-PA Society Meeting 5: Peace Corps Guest Speaker
Monday, October 23, 2017 · 12 - 12:50 PM
Our fifth meeting will be held on Monday, October 23rd from 12-12:50 pm in the Biological Sciences Building, Room 120. Jaleel Johnson, a Peace Corps recruiter, will be giving a presentation aimed towards health care specialists, describing how licensed medical professionals can assist others on a global level.
The Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated change-makers to immerse themselves in a community working abroad, working side by side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation. The Global Health Service Partnership is a collaboration of the Peace Corps, Seed Global Health and the US Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief to help address critical global shortages of health care professionals. They assist countries in need by sending physicians and nurses to work alongside local faculty to build institutional capacity and help strengthen the quality of medical education.
Come to this meeting to learn how you can help, not just in our country, but all around the world!
