Dear Members of the UMBC Community,
As our community works to improve sexual assault prevention and response, the University Steering Committee (USC) is seeking input on specific ways in which UMBC can become a safer, more supportive learning community for all.
The USC invites you to share your comments and recommendations by filling out an anonymous, two-question survey on how to make the campus safer and how to improve our community and campus environment. Our goal is to engage with the broader campus community to ensure all perspectives are heard and considered during this important work.
The USC is a shared governance committee consisting of all shared governance senates at UMBC, including the Student Government Association, Graduate Student Association, Professional Staff Senate, Non-Exempt Staff Senate, and Faculty Senate.
This is a challenging topic, and we encourage you to seek support if needed. There are many resources related to sexual misconduct available on campus and in the community that offer confidential medical support, confidential psychological/emotional support, and interim protective measures (e.g., no-contact orders, housing options, academic concerns). For emergency situations, contact campus police via 410-455-5555 or local police via 911.
