Are you interested in studying a critical language abroad? The U.S. Department of State is offering scholarships to study Korean, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Urdu, Swahili, and Portuguese. The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is currently accepting applications until mid November, and is hosting several informational webinars this week. They will be addressing concerns many students from underrepresented backgrounds have when considering applying for CLS.
The panels are:
- Monday, September 23: 6 PM ET - Identity Abroad Panel
Join the CLS Program Officer for Alumni Engagement and a panel of alumni to learn about identity abroad during the CLS Program.
- Tuesday, September 24: 6 PM ET – CLS & STEM Panel
Join CLS Program Officers and alumni panelists to learn about how the CLS Program can help set a student in STEM apart from the crowd.
- Wednesday, September 25: 6 PM ET – CLS & Rural Institutions Panel
Join CLS Program Officers and alumni to learn about how the CLS Program supports students from rural backgrounds and can expand their horizons.
- Thursday, September 26: 6 PM ET – CLS & You: Bridging Campuses, Uniting Futures
Join CLS Program Officers and a panel of alumni to learn about the CLS Program and how it aspires to broaden and increase the number of Americans who study and speak critical languages.
