Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Essay Workshop Session
Are you a U.S. citizen or national of the United States? Do you receive a Pell grant? Are you planning to study abroad? If so, you may be eligible for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship! The application is due this Friday, March 5th. We will be hosting two more essay workshops to help you put your finishing touches on your application! "Made in Ethiopia" Screening and Q&A | March 5 | 4:30PM | Library Gallery
Join the Asian Studies program in the AOK Library Gallery on Thursday, 3/5/26 at 4:30PM to watch the screening of Made in Ethiopia! Our event will also include a Q&A with the filmmaker herself, Xinyan Yu, along with discussants, Tracy Tinga (MCS) and Guenet Abraham (Visual Arts). Learn more about the documentary that explores rapid industrialization and China's economic influence in Africa. Food will be provided during this event. This event has been organized by Asian Studies with support from the Global Asia Initiative's Course Expansion Grant.

A Conversation with the CEO of the World Trade Center Institute
Have you ever considered pursuing an international career? Join the CEO of the largest network of globally minded businesses in the Mid-Atlantic for a conversation about global careers on April 23 from 4:00-5:15 in UC310! Hosted by the Global Studies Department.
During his 17-year tenure at WTCI, Eddie Resende has developed many initiatives for the organization, including international business and diplomacy fellowships and conferences, the Global Economic Outlook Report, World-Lens Podcast, and the Maryland Innovation Lab.
Eddie and his family migrated to the United States from Brazil when he was 11. He is an advocate for human rights issues, and today serves as the chairman of the board at New American Careers, a social enterprise that connects immigrant professionals to employment opportunities in the U.S. In 2023, Eddie was recognized as one of Maryland's Most Influential Leaders by the Daily Record.
