Freedom From Smoking
Make the Commitment to Quit Smoking Today!
Monday, November 4, 2013 · 12 - 1 PM
Most of you have probably heard that UMBC is now a smoke-free campus, so what better time to start thinking about quitting than now? University Health Services is committed to supporting all students, faculty and staff members of our campus community in achieving their health and wellness goals, including wanting to quit smoking.
We offer a FREE smoking cessation class each semester that is open to all students, faculty, staff and even outside community members. The short, seven-week course, will help you quit smoking by discussing the obstacles you will face in that process and developing a plan on how to conquer them. Smoking cessation medications are also available for free to those who qualify.
This Fall 2013, the 1st class will be held on Monday, Oct. 7th during free hour (12-1pm) in The Commons, Room 332. The course will run on every Monday from 12-1pm for seven weeks ending on November 18th - so you will be quit right in time to enjoy the holidays on a healthier note! Please contact Mickey Arora, Health Education Coordinator, to register for the course and/or to find out more information, at parora@umbc.edu or (410) 455-3752.
